The Library, Saheed Anurup Chandra Mahavidyalaya started in a small room of the college in the year 1991, and moved to its present premises in 2005 – 2006. Since then, it has grown in size and content to take the present shape. With the developments in computers and other communication technologies, the behavioral characteristics of the information seekers have been changing rapidly and library is trying its best to adapt with the technological advancement. For the last five decades, the library has been the lifeline of the academic activities of the Institute.
The Library is regarded as the heart of our college to fulfill the informational needs of the users mainly towards the completion of their academic programmes. The Library is having a carpet area of about 196.68 sq.m. The college library has two main collections i.e. print and digital collections. Print collection includes text books/reference books (total no. of books- 23,000 aprox.), journals, periodicals and digital collections mainly deal with e-books and e-journals. Our college library subscribes to about more than 6000 plus on-line journals through INFLIBNET N-LIST (E-Shodh Sindhu) Programme. Daily News Papers and Jobs Oriented New Papers are also available of our college library. KOHA an integrated library management software package is utilized in library automation
